Neru Trailer: Mohanlal’s Hesitant Lawyer Fights A Unique Case in Jeethu Joseph’s Courtroom Drama

The Drishyam duo promise a solid courtroom drama with Neru which follows a case taken up by Public Prosecutor Vijayamohan (Mohanlal). The recently released trailer doesn’t give away any details about the unique case at hand but tells us that Vijayamohan is a lawyer who has been away from the practice for several years. “Sir, I am not fit for this case,” says Vijayamohan who isn’t very confident in donning the black coat again. This adds to the already distressful issue at hand, as Vijayamohan tries to navigate his personal and professional challenges. The film’s title, Neru, means truth; and it is a story of courage, resilience and justice, we are told. 

Neru features a screenplay by advocate Santhi Mayadevi, and explores themes of corruption and legal conflicts. The film co-stars Siddique, Priya Mani, Anaswara Rajan, Santhi Mayadevi, Jagadish and Ganesh Kumar. Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph are collaborating for the fifth time after the two-part Drishyam film series, 12th Man and yet-to-be-released Ram. Satheesh Kurup is the cinematographer, Vinayak VS is the editor and Vishnu Shyam is the music composer. The film is slated to hit the screens on December 21.

In addition to Neru, Mohanlal has a long line-up of films, including Malaikottai Vaaliban, Barroz: Guardian of D'Gama's Treasure, Vrushubha, Ram: Part 1 and L2: Empuraan, to name a few.
