Nivin Pauly is joining hands with acclaimed director Ram for the first time with the road movie Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai (2024). The makers have now announced that the film will get its world premiere at the prestigious International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) under the Big Screen Competition category. The film is touted to be about three characters that undertake a ride bound by philosophical and ideological underpinnings in a train. It is one among the very few Tamil films to have this special honour of being part of the roster in IFFR.
Sharing the news, Nivin Pauly noted on his social media handles, "A feeling of immense pride and joy! Our prestigious venture and Director Ram’s unparalleled creation #YezhuKadalYezhuMalai is officially selected at the esteemed International Film Festival Rotterdam under the Big Screen Competition category. Yes! The World Premiere is @IFFR (sic)."
Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai has been in the making for the last two years and also features Anjali and Soori in other important roles. The title translates to “Seven Seas and Seven Mountains” and the film is expected to be about a man’s life-changing journey for love and the extent to which one will strive for a deep and spiritual discovery. Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the music for the film.
