Directors Gautham Vasudev Menon, Venkat Prabhu and cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin unveiled the trailer for Paramporul (2023) starring Sarathkumar and Amitash Pradhan. The trailer shows the story of a heist gone wrong where a police officer teams up with a small-time smuggler to steal an ancient idol that has somehow fallen into the hands of a smuggling mafia. The film also features Kashmira Pardeshi. While Sarathkumar plays a corrupt cop fixated on the idol belonging to a murder victim, Amitash plays the smuggler, who is forced to take up the job in fear of being imprisoned.
The title of the film Paramporul roughly translates to “ The Supreme Being”. Written and directed by debutant C Aravind Raj, the film is bankrolled by Manoj and Girish under Kavi Creations. Paramporul features a musical score by Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematography and editing handled by S Pandikumar and Nagooran Ramachandran, respectively. The team released a promo song video titled ‘Adiyaathi’ a few days ago featuring Yuvan and Anirudh Ravichander. The film is slated to be released on the 1st of September.
