Prabhas joins Akshay Kumar in his Tamil Debut film Kannappa

Prabhas has joined the cast of Akshay Kumar’s Tamil debut film Kannappa featuring Vishnu Manchu, Mohanlal, Mohan Babu and Brahmanandam in important roles. The film is directed by Mukesh Kumar Singh and intricately weaves the tale of Bhakta Kannappa's unwavering devotion to Lord Shiva, promising a cinematic journey of epic proportions.

Manchu who has also written the script expressed his happiness on Prabhas joining the team of Kannappa. He said, “With my dear friend Prabhas onboard, Kannappa emerges as a true Pan-Indian magnum opus, uniting stars from diverse linguistic backgrounds.”

The team of Kannappa includes Hollywood cinematographer Sheldon Chau, action director Kecha Khamphakdee, and dance maestro Prabhu Deva. The film is expected to release sometime in 2025.
