At a recent Front Row Session with Film Companion, Rani Mukerji spoke about the much anticipated sequel of her hit franchise, Mardaani 3. Shedding details on the film, she said that she will only give a nod for the project if the script stands out, only then will she reprise the role of cop Shivani Shivaji Roy.
“These writers are very lazy, likh hi rahe hain toh likh hi rahe hai (they have been writing since so long), I would love to play the part of Shivani,” said Mukerji in conversation with Anupama Chopra.
Talking about the first two installments, the 45-year-old actress shared, “When I was doing Mardaani 2 (2019) I was quite nervous because I had never done a sequel before, I was like how will it happen because I leave my characters behind each time the film gets over and then I don't know when I will be able to reprise that part again and with Mardaani 2 I was surprised that I enjoyed reprising the part so now I have like tasted blood so now I want to reprise again in 3. So I will be very very happy and excited if the Mardaani 3 script comes out something that we would make a film.”
Mukerji was last seen in Mrs Chatterjee VS Norway, directed by Ashima Chibber, the film also stars Jim Sarbh, Anirban Bhattacharya in pivotal roles.
