RRR sequel in the works says S.S. Rajamouli’s father, writer V. Vijayendra Prasad

Veteran writer V. Vijayendra Prasad has put all speculation to rest and revealed that a sequel to the massive blockbuster RRR (2022),  starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR, is in the works.

Speaking about his idea for the sequel Prasad said, “After the release of RRR I shared an idea of the sequel where the story continues with Sitarama Raju (Ram Charan) and Komaram Bheem (NTR Jr) set in Africa. My son liked it and asked me to develop it into a full script.”

However, there is a long way to go before fans can expect to see even an official announcement. Prasad said, “Right now he (Rajamouli) is fully into the movie with Mahesh Babu...and knowing my son’s temperament he will not pay any attention to the sequel idea till the movie with Mahesh is finished...After that if he likes my script and if both the heroes like the script and if they have the time ....Insha Allah!”

RRR was a massive hit at the box office and earned over 1000 crores in box office revenues. The song Naatu Naatu from the film won an Oscar for Best Original Song at the 95th Academy Awards.
