Sanya Malhotra wins Best Actress Award at New York Indian Film Festival 2024 for Mrs

Sanya Malhotra has clinched the ‘Best Actress’ award for her role in Mrs at the recently held New York Indian Film Festival 2024. The actress took to her social media handle to share the news.

Mrs is Arati Kadav's directorial venture, which is scheduled to hit the theatres soon. The film is a remake of Malayalam film The Great Indian Kitchen (2023), revolves around Malhotra’s character who navigates the challenges and expectations imposed by society and her marital life. As she grapples with her role as a wife, she embarks on a journey of self-discovery, striving to find her own voice and identity amidst the pressures of conforming to traditional norms.

Apart from this film, Malhotra is currently busy with the shooting of Dharma Productions’ film Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, which will star her along with Varun Dhawan, Janhvi Kapoor, and Rohit Saraf. The film will be released next year.
