Shabana Azmi to Star in Farhan Akhtar’s Production Dabba Cartel

Filming for Dabba Cartel, a web series produced by Excel Entertainment for Netflix India, is likely to begin in October this year. The show which was announced almost two years ago, will feature Shabana Azmi, Shalini Pandey and three other female actors who will play pivotal parts in the show. Shonali Bose who was supposed to direct the series, is no longer associated with the project. 

As per reports, Azmi, Pandey and the three other actors will play housewives secretly operating a high-stakes cartel. Dabba Cartel is a unique women-led crime drama and filming for the show will reportedly begin in October. The makers are yet to announce who the show’s new director and showrunner will be. 

Dabba Cartel is Excel Entertainment’s second association with Netflix after the coming-of-age rom-com series, Eternally Confused And Eager For Love (2022).
