Shahid Kapoor Confirms that Farzi 2 is in the works

Shahid Kapoor has confirmed that a second season of the web series Farzi is in the works. Kapoor made his OTT debut with the thriller series created by Raj and DK, that also starred Amol Palekar, Vijay Sethupathi, Kay Kay Menon, Raashii Khanna, and Bhuvan Arora. The show streamed on Amazon Prime Video and was hugely successful with viewers for its unique storyline and stellar performances.

In addition to the web series Farzi, Kapoor's film Bloody Daddy also released on an OTT platform, JioCinema. During a Pinkvilla Masterclass, Kapoor confirmed that Farzi 2 would happen but added that he is also working on films that will have theatrical releases.

Responding to a question from a fan who asked if they would see him on more OTT platforms, Kapoor jokingly replied, "Free me dekhna hai? Theatre ke paise bachaane hai? Thoda toh kharch karaunga. (Do you want to watch it for free? Want to save on theatre tickets? I will make you spend at least a little).”

Kapoor then added that his fans would get to see him on an OTT platform soon as Farzi 2 is in the pipeline. “So of course, the second season of Farzi will happen. I mean, the response was amazing. Also, the way the story ended, it was open-ended so there is an opportunity for a lot more to happen. It was not like a culmination. So Farzi 2 will happen, and if anything else I like, I will, but as of now, I haven’t said yes to anything for OTT because I had two releases this year, so I'm going to do some stuff for theatres now. But Farzi 2 will definitely happen."

Kapoor will be seen next in an untitled film where he will share screenspace with Kriti Sanon. The film is produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films and is scheduled to be released on February 9, 2024.
