Shaitaan Opening Day Box Office: Ajay Devgn Starrer Has a Decent Start

Ajay Devgn’s face off with R Madhavan is finally for the audience to witness on the big screen. The film which also stars Jyothika in the lead is a supernatural thriller where Madhavan plays the antagonist.

Shaitaan released in cinemas on March 8. As per the trade reports, Shaitaan registered a morning occupancy in the range of 17-20%. This is a good number, considering the genre is a horror thriller. The numbers are expected to get better during the evening and night shows.

The advance booking collections witnessed a big jump on Thursday, and the closing numbers came a bit closer to Devgn’s big success, Drishyam 2 (2022). Shaitaan added a total of 4.20 crores gross (excluding blocked seats) via advance booking collections for day 1.This is only 17% lower compared to Drishyam 2’s pre-booking sales of 5.10 crores on the opening day.

Shaitaan is the official remake of the 2023 Gujarati film Vash (2023). Apart from Devgn Madhavan and Jyothika, Janki Bodiwala, and Anngad Raaj will be seen in important roles.
