On the occasion of Dr.Shivarajkumar's birthday, the makers of his upcoming film Ghost released a teaser. The actor's first collaboration with director MG Srinivas of Birbal Trilogy fame has been one of the most awaited films of the year. The teaser premiered amidst much fanfare in Bangalore's Santosh Theatre, a classic landmark in Majestic, before being released online.

Titled the 'Big Daddy Teaser', it begins with a team of commandos assembling at an unknown area, planning an attack on the protagonist. As they tread towards the building, their leader warns them that a team had already tried an operation. "The previous team said they would finish the job in 5 minutes," says the leader in response to the commandos' assurance that they would finish the operation in ten minutes, "They never returned." We see glimpses of Dr. Shivarajkumar's character waiting for the commandos. He sits inside a huge garage space, smoking a cigarette in front of a table filled with a bottle of whiskey and a plate of Pani Puri. As the commandos enter, he throws glass of alcohol on a sheet covering something behind him. He flicks his cigarette at the sheet which burns and reveals a military tank behind him. He then lights up another cigarette, in a shot that is a reference to Shivarajkumar's classic introduction scene in Om (1995). He finally calls himself the 'Original Gangster'.

Ghost is written and directed by MG Srinivas and is produced by Sandesh Nagaraj under the Sandesh Productions banner. It also features Malayalam actor Jayaram, Anupam Kher (in his Kannada debut), Archana Jois and Satyaprakash. Arjun Janya provides the music while Mahendra Simha cranks the camera, with Deepu S Kumar handling the editing. Director Srinivas had also revealed that he would be making an appearance in the film as Mahesh Das, his character from Birbal Trilogy, hinting at a possible cinematic universe.
