It was in Vetri Maaran’s heart rending Viduthalai Part 1 that Soori, who is popularly known as a comedian, made his debut as a lead actor. This period crime thriller was planned as a two-part film series. Soori, who was widely appreciated for portraying Kumaresan, a reluctant yet honest police constable, recently announced that the crew has began the shoot of the second part.
Soori shared a video of himself getting a haircut, as he prepares to reprise his role in the sequel. In the short video, Soori dons his police uniform and holds his rifle, as he walks with his head held high. Sharing the post on Twitter, he wrote, "Kumaresan ready. #ViduthalaiPart2 Shooting In Progress."
The two-part film series, which is an adaptation of B Jeyamohan’s short story Thunaivan, traces the story of Perumal Vaathiyaar (Vijay Sethupathi), the leader of the extremist group Makkal Padai and how constable Kumaresan fights to bring justice when the group gets involved in a train accident. It co-stars Bhavani Sre, Gautham Vasudev Menon and Rajiv Menon in pivotal roles. Bankrolled by RS Infortainment, R Velraj has lensed the film and Ilaiyaraaja has scored the music.
