At the launch event for the Bawaal trailer in Dubai, Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor spoke about their experiences on the sets of the Nitesh Tiwari directorial. When asked about the unconventional roles in his filmography, Dhawan said, “As an actor what is difficult is to be fearless and to fight your own insecurity.”
“A human being has to fight his own insecurity before he does anything because we care so much about our image. This is exactly what the film is about," he added.
Talking about her experiences on the set of Bawaal, Kapoor said, “I was pinching myself every day because it’s such a big opportunity for me working with everyone on the stage today. I tried really hard to convince them to take me in the film. I chased them. I think I stalked Nitesh sir and Sajid sir quite a bit.”
Bawaal is a contemporary love story set against the backdrop of World War II. The film is directed by Tiwari and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala in association with Prime Video. Bawaal streams on Prime Video from July 21.
