Vicky Kaushal's The Great Indian Family Earns Under 10 Crores at the Box Office

Vicky Kaushal and Manushi Chhillar starrer The Great Indian Family has received a lukewarm response from audiences after its release on September 22.

As per a report in ETimes, the film earned only Rs 1.4 crores on its opening day and has earned a total of Rs 7.58 crores at the domestic box office in the week after its release. The film is written and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya and produced by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner.

The Great Indian Family tells the story of Ved Vyas Tripathi aka Bhajan Kumar who is raised in a pious Hindu family only to find out as an adult that he was born to Muslim parents. How he and those around him come to terms with this reality forms the narrative of the film.

The Great Indian Family also stars Manoj Pahwa, Bhuvan Arora, Kumud Mishra, Alka Amin, Srishti Dixit and others.
