Vikram Prabhu Joins the Diwali Race With His Crime Thriller Raid

Actor Vikram Prabhu, who was recently seen in the romance Irugapatru, announced that his next crime film Raid will hit the screens on Diwali. The release window seems to be packed with big films such as Jigarthanda Double X and Japan. The teaser of Raid shows Vikram Prabhu as a no-nonsense cop who does not hesitate to get his hands bloodied.

The film is an official remake of the Kannada film Tagaru, which starred Dr. Shivarajkumar and Dhananjaya and was directed by Suri. The original explored the nature of violence and the changing landscape of the underworld. The film propelled actor Dhananjaya KA into immense stardom. He got the monicker ‘Daali’ Dhananjaya, named after the character he plays in Tagaru.

Raid is written and directed by Karthi. The film is backed by SK Kanishk and G Manikannan under the Open Screen Pictures and GK Pictures banners. Sam CS has composed the music while Kathiravan and Manimaran have handled the cinematography and editing, respectively. The film also stars Sri Divya, Ananthika, Rishi Rithvik, and Soundararaja.
