Vishal Embarks On A New Journey As The Director Of Thupparivaalan 2

Actor and producer Vishal, who was last seen in the sci-fi action entertainer Mark Antony, will be donning the director’s hat for the first time. Making his debut with the sequel of his 2017 hit Thupparivaalan, Vishal took to social media to express his gratitude for being able to take on the project as his first film.

Thupparivaalan 2 was initially supposed to be helmed by Myssin and shooting was underway in Bristol in 2019. However, differences reportedly began to arise between Mysskin and Vishal, leading the director to depart from the project. Parts of the film were shot with Vishal taking over as the director but filming went on hiatus again. Now, the film seems to have been resumed. Vishal also mentioned in his post addressing Mysskin that he would not abandon anyone’s “baby in real life and reel life”.

Thupparivaalan is produced by Vishal under the Vishal Film Factory banner. The film has music by Ilaiyaraaja who replaces Arrol Corelli from the original. Nirav Shah handles the cinematography. Actor Prasanna, who played the character of Manohar in the original is set to reprise his role.
