Suriya kickstarted the OTT shift for stars with Soorarai Pottru, a film that won him his first National Award – his character’s passion to fly was probably quite infectious. Holding on to this success streak, he backed himself as an honest and revolutionary lawyer in Jai Bhim, a disturbingly moving film about institutional violence. While his second round as a lawyer in the male-saviour-complexed Etharkkum Thunindhavan did hurt the streak, the actor topped it all off with his dynamite cameo – as Rolex in Vikram – one that screams power.
