Pradeep is a short filmmaker who made his debut in Tamil cinema with the unique comedy Comali, which told the story of a young man going into a coma, only to wake up after sixteen years with the whole world changed around him. This logline itself is a testament to the kind of filmmaker Pradeep Ranganathan would wind up becoming. His follow-up film Love Today used the idea of a couple's attempt at swapping their mobile phones to deliver a comedy of errors. The blockbuster success of the film made the director an in-demand leading man, with his next release being Dragon directed by Ashwath Marimuthu, and Love Insurance Corporation.
