Jio Studios came as a clutter-breaker with their OTT arm JioCinema creating ripples in the streaming ecosystem with cut-throat prices in exchange for a prolific slate. Last year, this content arm of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) put out Marathi-language Baipan Bhari Deva and Jhimma 2 along with Bollywood films like Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki and Vicky Kaushal-Sara Ali Khan-starrer Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, and Mithun Chakraborty-starring Bengali-language film Kabuliwala — all of which were hits in varying degrees. They even put out Bloody Daddy, one of the most viewed films on OTT last year.
