It’s been a steady ascent for Shridhar Raghavan, who began his writing career as a 12 year-old with short stories. After a stint in journalism and 10 years of writing for television, the screenwriter found his sweet spot with thrilling masala movies. With stories that invariably have an idealistic heart, gentle humour, thrills and adrenaline rushes, Raghavan has established himself as one of commercial cinema’s most prolific and reliable storytellers. The fact that he is a movie buff is evident in the way his stories delight in playing with tropes and tricks. Recently, Raghavan delivered one of Hindi cinema’s biggest blockbusters, Shah Rukh Khan’s comeback film Pathaan, and also wrote a small-screen favourite, the Indian adaptation of The Night Manager.
