The first time he won the National Award for the Best Editor was in 1989 and then the master editor went on to win the most prestigious award of the country in the same category for a record six more times. Sreekar Prasad, whose filmography includes diverse genres, has given the industry some of its evergreen films and blockbusters including Alaipayuthey, Dil Chahta Hai, Kannathil Muthamittal, Yodha, Okkadu, RRR, and many more. From Mani Ratnam to Vishal Bhardwaj to S.S. Rajamouli, he has collaborated with eminent filmmakers in various languages. Prasad’s subtle and elegant craft has also constantly assisted in producing prominent works for young directors.
