When a simple road trip in NH10 turned into a gruesome cat-and-mouse game culminating with the heroine single-handedly finishing off a gang of thugs, it was evident that writer Sudip Sharma came with vision and an uncanny insight into the fragile and violent aspects of north Indian masculinity. However, it was in the streaming space that Sharma found his niche. The longer format has proven to be the perfect medium for Sharma, who has to his credit the phenomenally popular Paatal Lok and more recently, Kohrra. As a showrunner and a writer, Sharma’s strength lies in his ability to draw in even the most casual viewer and make them care for his flawed, broken but resilient heroes.
