Streaming platforms are notorious for their lack of transparency, allowing them to quote numbers that are tough to verify. Ormax Media, a media consulting firm, has began tracking viewership figures of the top releases across major platforms.

Here's a list of the most-viewed shows and movies from the Indian streaming space during the week of July 26th, 2021 – August 1st, 2021. The numbers are all estimates based only within India. This list does not include any streaming released from the South.

1) Hungama 2 – Disney+Hotstar

Views (million): 7.6

The "spiritual successor" to the 2003 classic Hungama, Hungama 2, directed by Priyadarshan, is loosely based on Priyadarshan's own 1994 Malayalam film Minnaram.

2) Hostel Daze Season 2- Amazon Prime Video

Views (million): 4.9

TVF's second season follows a group of friends at an engineering college as they navigate the social, sexual, and cultural awakening.

3) Mimi – Netflix/Jio Cinema

Views (million): 3.6

Based on the Marathi film Mala Aai Vhhaychy  a serious look at the gaps and galls of the surrogacy laws in India, Mimi infuses the drama with humour. Set in a town in Rajasthan , Kriti Sanon plays a dance performer who is asked by a foreigner couple to be their surrogate. She's paid 20 lakhs but the couple develop cold feet and leave.

4) City Of Dreams S2 – Disney+Hotstar

Views (million): 3.3

City of Dreams is an Indian series by Nagesh Kukunoor. the political drama within and around the Gaekwad family enmeshed in the politics of Maharashtra.

5) Toofan – Amazon Prime Video

Views (million): 2.2

This is a sports drama directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, starring Farhan Akhtar as a national level boxer, with Mrunal Thakur and Paresh Rawal in supporting roles.
