Streaming platforms are notorious for their lack of transparency, allowing them to quote numbers that are tough to verify. Ormax Media, a media consulting firm, has began tracking viewership figures of the top releases across major platforms.

Here's a list of the most-viewed shows and movies from the Indian streaming space during the week of May 107h, 2021 – May 23rd, 2021. The numbers are all estimates based only within India. This list does not include any streaming released from the South.

1) Runaway Lugai –  MX Player

Views (million): 3.6

The case of a runaway bride gets embroiled with local politics and media sensationalization, in a tale that brings Sanjay Mishra to the fore.

 

2) The Last Hour — Amazon Prime Video

Views (million): 2.7

Starring Sanjay Kapoor, Shahana Goswami, and Raima Sen this mytsery-thriller is about a young shaman on the run. When he joins hands with a city cop to hunt down a dangerous figure from his dark past, all hell breaks loose.

3) Ramyug – MX Player

Views (million): 2.3

A Kunal Kohli regurgitation of the Indian epic Ramayana, this is a close-to-the-text rendering of the events in the life of Rama, his wife Sita, his brother Lakshmana, and his enemy, the ten-headed Ravana

4) Sardar Ka Grandson — Netflix

Views (million): 1.6

This film stars Arjun Kapoor as the grandson who uproots an ancestral home in Pakistan to bring it back to India for his grandmother played by Neena Gupta.

 

5) Radhe – Zee5 and ZeePlex

Views(million): 1.4

This Salman Khan starrer was the tentpole Eid release of this year, a remake of a Korean movie The Outlaws directed by Prabhudeva. The films also stars Disha Patani, Jackie Shroff, and Randeep Hooda.
