Streaming platforms are notorious for their lack of transparency, allowing them to quote numbers that are tough to verify. Ormax Media, a media consulting firm, however, has been tracking viewership figures of the top releases across major platforms.

Here’s a list of the most-viewed shows and movies from the Indian streaming space between March 11th and March 17th, 2024. The numbers are estimates based within India, and only include Hindi streaming releases. 

1. Maharani - SonyLIV

Views (million): 4.6

Subhash Kapoor’s political drama, starring Huma Qureshi, returns for a third season with a new uphill battle for Rani Bharti. 

2. Showtime - Disney+ Hotstar

Views (million): 4.4

Karan Johar’s web-series is set in the glamorous, tumultuous, money-raking world of show-biz, with an ensemble cast of Naseeruddin Shah, Emraan Hashmi, Mouni Roy and more.

3. Shark Tank India: Season 3 - SonyLIV

Views (million): 4.2

After two successful seasons, the Indian edition of Shark Tank — a reality show in which budding entrepreneurs pitch their businesses to a panel of investors — returns with a third season, this time with 12 Sharks.

4. Murder Mubarak - Netflix

Views (million): 3.3

This mystery thriller directed by Homu Adajania features the huge ensemble cast ​​of Pankaj Tripathi, Sara Ali Khan, Vijay Varma, Dimple Kapadia, Karisma Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, Tisca Chopra and more.

5. Big Girls Don’t Cry - Amazon Prime Video

Views (milliom): 2.8
