The latest Hotstar Special, 1962: The War in the Hills, tells the story of the Indo-China war of 1962. In the trailer, we see Prime Minister Nehru (Arif Zakaria) being faced with a quandary: after China crosses the border, India has no choice but to join a war we cannot afford. It falls to the courageous soldiers of the army, led by Major Suraj Singh (Abhay Deol), to brave all odds and fight the battle that, as the trailer informs us, changed the course of war. As the Chinese army vows to conquer all of Kashmir, 125 Indian soldiers must go up against 3000 Chinese men to protect India at any cost. One of the soldiers (Akash Thosar) even vows to come home either with the tricolour held high or wrapped in it himself.
The series, directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, also stars Sumeet Vyas, Mahie Gill, Meiyang Chang Rochelle Rao and Hemal Ingle. It streams on Disney+ Hotstar on February 26th.
