An abandoned ship washes up on Juhu Beach. The scariest thing on board – an agile ghost that can climb walls, hide inside claustrophobic lockers and frighten you from within mirrors. Despite rumours that the vessel is haunted Prithvi (Vicky Kaushal), the ship's surveying officer climbs aboard to investigate. As his paranoia increases, he's told: Jise tum dekh rahe ho, yeh tumhara hallucination nahi hai, balki burasa hai. A couple who's obviously never watched a horror movie in their lives decide the ship is the perfect spot for a little hanky panky, only to be dragged off by the ghost. Time for Prithvi to bust open locked doors, smash windows and swing through fire. There are also shots of objects levitating and a girl cycling down the hallway that will remind you of that famous The Shining scene.
The film, also starring Bhumi Pednekar, has been produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta and Shashank Khaitan.
Written and directed by Bhanu Pratap Singh, Bhoot: The Haunted Ship releases on February 21, 2020.
