Framing Britney the documentary on Discovery+ released before the hearing where she emphatically spoke for herself. In the aftermath of that hearing, some searing truths were revealed — about how Spears lacked any agency in her life, sexual or social.

Now Netflix is releasing Britney VS Spears, a documentary which promises a "confidential report" leaked by someone close to the conservatorship, described as an "epic fail of the legal system". From the trailer it looks like the documentary will be treading the same ground as Framing Britney with additional evidence, and the voice notes of her publicly telling the judge, "I just want my life back."

Directed by filmmaker Erin Lee Carr, Britney vs. Spears premieres on Netflix on September 28. The date is strategic for the very next day, September 29, is when the hearing takes place to end the conservatorship which has been in place since 2008.
