Eight years after Ek Villain (2014), we've got Ek Villain Returns, featuring more dangerous, frustrated men and some giggling women (is this writer Mohit Suri's hat-tip to feminism?). In the first instalment, which had Riteish Deshmukh in his first negative role, the villain of the title was a man who went on a killing spree because he was a henpecked husband.

In Ek Villain Returns, we're introduced to a serial killer who targets women who are the one-sided crushes of certain men. Or to quote the film, the villain wants to be "dil toote aashiqon ka massiah" (the messiah of the heartbroken lover). There are also many gravity-defying stunts, the promise of blood splatter, as well as John Abraham ripping off his shirt. If that doesn't convince you to watch the film, Ek Villain Returns also has Disha Patani, Tara Sutaria and Arjun Kapoor, a couple of shower scenes and some serious suspense. Also, there's the a hint of an evil, secret alliance between the leading ladies.

Directed by Mohit Suri, who also directed Ek Villain, this second instalment is produced by Ektaa Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor, along with Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar. Ek Villain Returns will release in theatres on July 29.
