Jayeshbhai Jordaar Trailer Talk: Ranveer Singh Fights Against Female Foeticide

A social dramedy film written and directed by Divyang Thakkar — who has made a name for himself in the Gujarati film industry — and produced by Aditya Chopra and Maneesh Sharma under Yash Raj Films, Jayeshbai Jordaar stars Ranveer Singh as the titular hero. 

Shalini Pandey, of Arjun Reddy fame, plays his wife, while Boman Irani and Ratna Pathak Shah play his conservative parents who are vehement about a male heir. However when his wife is expecting a female heir, all hell breaks loose. Jayeshbhai Jordaar looks like a colourful film with a social message where Singh plays a Gujarati man who aspires to bring about equality between men and women in a patriarchal society.

Ranveer Singh, in a recent interview, noted, "Hopefully, Jayeshbhai will change the definition of heroism on screen, and leave people with an important message in the most entertaining and hilarious fashion. Here, the hero is the most innocent and honest person you have met in a long time."

With music by Vishal  and Sheykhar and lyrics by Jaideep Sahni, Kumaar, Vayu, the film will release theatrically on May 13th.
