Kalki 2898 AD Trailer Talk: Prabhas Plays A Bounty Hunter In A Post-Apocalyptic Future

Nag Ashwin’s much-awaited sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD will be released on June 27. The makers of the film have now released the trailer of the Prabhas starrer. The trailer opens with a post-apocalyptic India, hundreds of years in the future. The divide between the haves and the have-nots seems to have widened and has gotten clearer. While the citizens deal with drought and hunger, Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika Padukone’s characters seem to have the key: a newborn baby.

As Bachchan’s Ashwatthama protects Deepika Padukone’s Padma, a bounty hunter named Bhairava (played by Prabhas) is tasked by the antagonist to bring her back. The story amps up in scale as Bhairava and Ashwatthama cross paths. Visuals of wars, magic, and curses are shown with Santosh Narayanan’s rousing score while we also get a glimpse of actors Pasupathy, Shobhana, Anna Ben, and more. The final shots introduce Kamal Haasan in a new and menacing avatar.

Kalki 2898 AD is written and directed by Nag Ashwin and is backed by Aswani Dutt under the Vyjayanthi Films banner. Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Disha Patani, Pasupathy, and more also feature in the film. Santosh Narayanan handles the music while Djordje Stojiljkovic handles the camera.
