Set to the background of A.R. Rahman's score, the trailer of Malayankunju that launched today,  introduces Fahadh Faasil as Anikuttan, whose emotional range goes from angry to irate – whether it's a baby's cry to nosy neighbours. The video starts with Indrans saying "Anikuttan has lost it again" and towards the end we see visuals of a truly lost Anikuttan who is trying to dig himself out of a muddy pit.

The film also stars Rajisha Vijayan, Indrans, Jaffer Idukki and Deepak Parambol. It marks Sajimon Prabhakar's debut as a director, who has previously assisted on Malik and C U Soon

Before this, the Oscar winning music composer A.R. Rahman had worked on Mohanlal's 1992 film Yodha in the Malayalam industry. While many of his compositions were dubbed in Malayalam, this will be his second direct project.

Screenplay and cinematography is handled by Mahesh Narayanan who directed Malik and C U Soon, both starring Fahadh Faasil and is the editor of the recent films Aarkkariyam and Nayattu. His 2017 film Take Off had won many accolades — Kerala State Film Award for Best Debut Director, Silver Peacock Award at IFFI 2017 and Special Mention at 65th National Film Awards among others.

Malayankunju is edited by Arju Benn and produced by Fazil, a director and Fahadh Faasil's father, under the banner of Fahadh Faasil and Friends and Century Cinemas.

Fahadh Faasil recently made his Telugu debut with director Sukumar's Pushpa: The Rise where he plays the role of an IPS officer, Bhanwar Singh Shekawat.
