The three-minute long trailer of Padavettu sees Nivin Pauly's Ravi change from a lazy man who is made fun and gets beaten up to a powerful rebel who fights the politicians. The film which is said to be set in the backdrop of north Kerala explores the socio-political issues of the area.
While different parties run political campaigns and scheme plans to take down others, Ravi warns the people about politicians' misuse the power. He asks, "All these mountains are being drilled, forests are cleared and fields are filled, do we need the mercy of such dirty money?"
Nivin Pauly appears in two different looks, sporting long hair in one and short in the other. Assumingly, the film traces two different timelines. The trailer has a lot of action sequences, where Ravi takes down masked enemies, politicians and also a few villagers who mock him. Padavettu is set to hit the screens on October 21.
