Vidyut Jammwal stars in an action-packed, lone rescue mission in the upcoming action-thriller film, Sanak. The trailer of the film begins in the setup of a hospital, where it's revealed that Vivaan (Jamwal) and Vanshika (Rukmini Maitra), a couple in love, are struggling to come to terms with the latter's diagnosis. She is suffering from a serious heart condition, which requires immediate surgery.
Vanshika gets ready for her impending surgery – with Vivaan promising to protect her at all cost – but things take a turn for the worse as the hospital gets attacked by terrorists. In a bid to fulfil his promise, Vivaan then takes it upon himself to leave no stone unturned to rescue the love of his life, along with the lives of several other hostages in danger.
Neha Dhupia, playing the role of the police officer in command, also gets into action off-ground, calling for commandos, snipers and bomb experts. Vivaan – trained in martial arts – however, waits for none as he manages to break through the premises of the hospital all by himself, in a mission to 'kill the bad guys.' A string of action sequences follow, with Jammwal punching and kicking the criminals, one after the other. The trailer then reveals that 'he gets bad, when he is mad.'
Directed by Kanishk Varma, the film, also starring Chandan Roy Sanyal, is a remake of the 2002 film John Q. Produced by Zee Studios and Sunshine Pictures, it premieres on Disney+ Hotstar on October 15.
