Sunny Teaser Talk: Jayasurya Is A Musician In Search Of Inspiration In His 100th Film

The teaser of Jayasurya's 100th film, Sunny, was released today by Amazon Prime Video. It doesn't reveal much about the plot and focuses exclusively on the mental state of its central character, Sunny, played by Jayasurya. Set to calming music by Shankar Sharma, the teaser begins with Sunny regretting that his music has started to fade from his life. Though you only see Sunny in the teaser, you hear the voices of his friends through his phone and they encourage him to believe in himself and make music.

Sunny says that he needs inspiration to get back into music. And then almost immediately you hear a female voice telling Sunny that he's a great musician and we see him become more hopeful. It seems like a very personal film that focuses on the lead character Sunny (the voiceovers being the only other people we encounter in the teaser, at least) as he tries to regain his passion for life.

Jayasurya's last film Vellam had a theatrical release but Sunny is getting a worldwide OTT release through Amazon Prime Video. It's written and directed by Ranjith Sankar who has previously collaborated in films like Punyalan Agarbattis, Pretham and Njan Marykutty.

Music is by Shankar Sharma, cinematography by Madhu Neelakandan, and editing by Shameer Muhammed. Produced by Ranjith Sankar and Jayasurya under their production house Dreams N Beyond, Sunny releases on September 23 on Amazon Prime Video.
