Gargi has Sai Pallavi playing a teacher who leads a simple middle-class life along with her parents. The trailer starts off with someone breaking the window of Sai Pallavi's house with a voice that asks if she is the daughter of Brahmanandam. And you immediately learn that she is going to face backlash for whatever her father is assumed to have done.
The trailer then takes us through the journey of Gargi and how her life turns upside down in just a day. She leads a normal life and loves the joy of everyday experiences like traveling in a share auto, listening to songs, eating upma, meeting her loved ones, and spending time with her family. However, when her father gets entangled in a case, she faces humiliation and battles to save him.
A lawyer named Indrans Kaliyaperumal volunteers to defend her case, but he struggles with stuttering issues. Gargi's mother does not believe she can help her father because she is a girl. Meanwhile, the case goes through a media trial. The emotional trailer ends with her father's motivating voiceover, "Whose daughter are you, can you be scared of all these? Think of your father and you will automatically feel the courage."
Gargi is slated to hit the theatres on July 15 in Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada, with Sai Pallavi having dubbed for all three languages.
