“The wolf kills the deer. The panther kills the wolf, the tiger kills the panther, and the lion kills the tiger. But there isn’t a single animal on earth that can kill the lion”, says STR, essaying the role of sand mining mafia kingpin AGR. The two minute trailer features several moments of the actor embracing the negative avatar of the character, and promises an intense, action-packed crime saga.
The trailer opens with a news report stating that the Chief Minister of the State has gone missing. The prime suspect is AGR, played by Simbu. Gautham Menon plays the role of the undercover cop, who is tasked with taking down Simbu. The film is posited as a battle between the cynical, weighed down cop and the vengeful, violent crime boss. “You went up against the AGR to end sand mining. But it was all in vain”, says Gautham Menon. The trailer features two separate timelines, one set to trace the rise of AGR, and another that explores his quest to consolidate his position.
Helmed by Obeli N Krishna, the film will feature music from A.R Rahman, and also stars Priya Bhavani Shankar, Gautham Karthik and Kalaiyarasan. Produced by Jayantilal Gada and K E Gnanavelraja, the film is slated to hit theatres on March 30.
