What's the connection between the everyday pressure cooker found in every kitchen and the nature of turbulent relationships? Juxtaposing the visuals of both, we get an interesting trailer for I Hate You, I Love You, the first chapter of which premieres on Madboys' YouTube channel on February 13.
An abstract indication of how emotions and feelings get bottled up in marriages/relationships, the trailer for the anthology series hints at several love-hate relationships across age and class barriers.
Shree Karthick, known for short films such as Vyugam and Childhood Diaries, writes and directs this new anthology along with Vignesh Raja and Vinayak Vaithianathan. The trailer shows us a glimpse of all stories — five couples exhibiting a tipping point of anger, rage and frustration.
The cast includes Gayathrie Shankar, Vidya Pradeep, Dev, Kanna Ravi and Vinayak Vaithianathan. It is produced by Dev and Shree Karthick under Madboys Originals, with music by Staccato.
The other series releasing this week appears to be a cool investigation thriller titled Vadham, directed by Venkatesh Babu. Playing a police officer whose end goals outweigh the process, Sruthi Hariharan is given the task of finding the murderer of a person named Vignesh. Given the political importance of the victim, this case becomes even more sensational, because it has implications on the State's politics.
Beyond the investigation, it also looks like a thriller that pays attention to the action sequences too. There are glimpses of great moves, and the show promises a mix of brain and brawn, and good production values as well.
These two shows premiere along with Hotstar's Live Telecast, directed by Venkat Prabhu, starring Kajal Aggarwal. Along with the release of films such as Kutty Story, Paris Jayaraj, C/O Kadhal and Naanum Single Thaan, the Valentine's Day weekend has already become one of most crowded release days in nearly a year.
