The Big Day Trailer Talk: Netflix Series Looks At The Lavish Indian Wedding

Netflix India's next reality show cum docuseries after Indian Matchmaking, in which couples were set up up, is The Big Day, which looks at the preparation that goes into lavish Indian weddings. It follows six couples around the globe, each planning their own opulent shindig.

There's a peek into the pressures that the brides feel. Some are superficial – "Look, I can't have white hair while getting married," says one. Others run deeper – "An Indian bride is expected to be very beautiful, graceful and delicate…I am not delicate," says another. A man decries the "swipe-left"culture that makes it hard to find a partner and voiceovers fill in what drew the couples together.

The Big Day drops on Netflix on February 14.
