Tuck Jagadish, Nani's next after his direct-to-OTT film V, is also taking the OTT route due to the ongoing pandemic. Believed to be a rural, masala film of the kind that Nani hasn't done before, the trailer of the much-delayed film was released today. The trailer suggests that Tuck Jagadish is emotional family entertainer. After the hero introduction shot in the trailer, Nani, playing Jagadish Naidu, is shown to be a person who is very deeply attached to his family. Aishwarya Rajesh plays his sister, Chandra. We are shown shots of the romance between Jagadish and Gummadi Varalakshmi (Ritu Varma).
The trailer turns serious and emotional after that. After the death of his father, Jagadish vows to clean up the violence in his village. And it looks like he gets locked in a battle with his own brother, played by Jagapathi Babu. The trailer ends with a little girl asking Jagadish if he's her family when he tears up and says that he's not sure.
The film has been awaiting release for a long time and was expected to hit theatres in April but postponed due to the second wave of the pandemic. Now due to continuing uncertainties associated with the pandemic, the makers have opted for a direct OTT release. On August 18, Nani had released a statement allowing the producers of the film to decide whether the film should have a theatrical or OTT release.
Tuck Jagadish is directed by Shiva Nirvana (Ninnu Kori, Majili) with music by S. Thaman (and background score by Gopi Sundar). Cinematography is by Prasad Murella and editing by Pawin Pudi. The film also has Daniel Balaji, Nassar, Devadarshini, Naresh and Rao Ramesh. The film is produced by Sahu Garapati and Harish Peddi of Shine Screens.
