On Rana Daggubati birthday, the makers of his new film Virataparavam, set in the 1990's, released a first glimpse in the form of a one-minute teaser video. Earlier titled Virataparavam: 1992, the shoot of the film had been stalled due the Corona outbreak. Other stars of the film include Nandita Das, Sai Pallavi and Priyamani. It is being directed by Udugula Venu, who had earlier made Needi Naadi Oke Katha, and this film is being bankrolled by Rana's home production Suresh Productions.
In the brief video, the star can be seen in two looks; one as a political leader surrounded by party workers and red flags, and another more intense avatar where he is seen in a military uniform with guns, fire and a forest backdrop. According to reports, he is playing a Naxalite leader named Ravanna. The film's tagline is 'Revolution is an act of love'.
The action scenes also are sure to be a highlight. They are being designed by Peter Hein and Stefan Richter.
