There's no rich man that hasn't cried and there's no poor man who hasn't laughed at least once in his life…so begins the awesome trailer of Ajith's new film Viswasam. And as expected, the film is set in a rural background (in Theni district) and sees 'Thala' returning home to a more local avatar after playing an international spy in director's Siva's Vivegam.

The action-packed trailer, all of 135 seconds,  promises Ajith (the 'villain'), taking on the urban and suave Jagapathi Babu, who announces his entry by saying, en padathila naan hero da! (I'm the hero of my story).

The film seems to be set across two time periods, the first featuring a younger Ajith is coloured shirts and a second one, with Thala seen in white veshti and white shirts sporting his signature salt-and-pepper look.

A fight scene featuring Ajith on a motorcycle is sure to send the racer's fans into a frenzy. A glimpse of a fight set in a public restroom too seems exciting.  The actor is a joy to watch in a more fun and relaxed avatar, resembling the lovable character he played in Vedhalam.

Apart from Ajith, the film also stars Nayanthara (after 2013's Arrambam), Jagapathi Babu, Vivek, Thambi Ramiah, Yogi Babu, Robo Shankar and Kovai Sarala.

Nayanthara plays Niranjana in the film, his wife and his character also says he has a daughter named Swetha (played by Anika from Yennai Arindhaal).

The songs by D Imman, which includes the hit track 'Adchithooku', has already received millions of views on YouTube.

Viswasam is the fourth collaboration between Siva and Ajith, after Veeram (2014), Vedhalam (2015) and Vivegam (2017), and it is expected to take on Rajinikanth's Petta on January 10, 2019. Vetri, the film's cinematographer, too has been part of the three earlier films of the duo.
