Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani: Box Office Report

Director-producer Karan Johar has made his long-awaited directorial comeback with larger-than-life family drama Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023). The film, starring Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi and Dharmendra, made Rs. 11.10 crore on its opening day. According to Bollywood Hungama, the collection jumped to Rs. 16.05 crore on Saturday and Rs. 19.50 crore on Sunday. However, film exhibitor Akshaye Rathi estimated Sunday numbers at Rs. 18.75 crores. 

Rathi said, “The film has consolidated itself and grown from strength to strength with every passing day. This upward trend clearly indicates the fact that people have taken to the film, the word-of-mouth is solid and this is a film that’s here to stay.”

Per Bollywood Hungama, the three-day total for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani’s opening weekend stands at Rs. 46.65 crore. With no major releases on either OTT (over the top) platforms or in theatres this week, the film is expected to continue its excellent run at the box office. “It is a one-horse race until then, which will ensure a great lifetime number for Rocky Aur Rani,” said Rathi.
