Streaming platforms are notorious for their lack of transparency, allowing them to quote numbers that are tough to verify. Ormax Media, a media consulting firm, however, has been tracking viewership figures of the top releases across major platforms.

Here’s a list of the most-viewed shows and movies from the Indian streaming space during the week of August 21st to August 27th, 2023. The numbers are estimates based only within India. This list does not include any streaming releases from the South.

1. Taali - Jio Cinema

Views (million): 5.1

Sushmita Sen plays transgender activist Gauri Sawant in this series based on real events.

2. Guns and Gulaabs - Netflix

Views (million): 4.0

Rajkummar Rao, Dulquer Salmaan, Adarsh Gourav, and Gulshan Devaiah star in this crime comedy series directed by Raj and DK.

3. Aakhri Sach - Disney+ Hotstar

Views (million): 3.8

Based on the Burari incident, this investigative thriller follows Anya (Tamannaah Bhatia), a police officer who is called upon to probe the suspected suicides of 11 family members.
